Nationwide Helping Hand Mortgage

Hi All,
We, wife and self, applied for the helping hand mortgage through a broker on 23 Aug.Valuation booked for 27 Aug, report received the same day. Wife's employment documents requested on 7 Sep. Then again on 17 Sep. Nothing has happened since then. We are still waiting to hear from them. A bit worried now tbh.0 -
Ours took a while too - about 5 weeks from application to offer, including some document issues. I think because they're lending more (and therefore higher risk) they do more checks. You can check the service levels for Nationwide here - https://www.nationwide-intermediary.co.uk/placing-business/service-updatesvinit_tyagi said:Hi All,

Sorry - haven't really been checking this thread, so I'm guessing you've applied already! We went through a broker for ease - they dealt with the back and forth, we just sat back and waited for the offer to come through. I don't think the interest rates were any different, so there's no specific benefit in that sense. I would say, considering this is the only product of its kind (to answer your second questions) the benefit of going through broker is knowing the application is done properly - last thing you want is to have your application rejected because of a upload error or something similar if you're doing it yourself.tommydog40 said:
Was there any advantage to submitting through a broker? What interest rates have they offered you?E_D_FTB said:@RedRuby_2, we submitted our full Helping Hand application through a broker on 14/6. So far it seems no different to any other application, and we've not been asked to supply any additional evidence specifically for it. Will keep you updated on how it goes!
Also is anyone aware of any competing products in the market place to the Nationwide helping hand mortgage?
Hope that helps and your house-buying process is going well!10th June - DIP submitted
