Refund or further voucher for French Campsite

Last year in August 2020 we were due to stay on a French Campsite and had paid a deposit.  Due to Coronavirus we could not travel and the campsite gave us a voucher which we were happy with.  Due to the uncertainty of having to self isolate this year, we have asked the campsite to postpone and move our deposit to 2022.  They are refusing saying that we could have travelled last year and that the voucher and deposit will be lost unless we use it before September 2021.  Where do we stand?  Is there anything we can do or have we lost our deposit?

What were the terns and conditions for the voucher.

Disinclination to travel is not normally a valid reason for cancellation/postponement so it would be a goodwill gesture only.
