Wiring a cooker

Hi Alric."There is currently a wired switch with a light, which connects to another 13A plug socket" Could you explain this further, please?1) Where is this other 13A socket?2) How do you know the neon-switch is connected to it?3) How was the original oven connected - to where?

I'm hugely in favour of DIY and learning on the job, but I wonder if this is one of the few times when "...if you have to ask, then you shouldn't be doing it" applies?1

The only he needs is to replace the socket with a cooker plate (and, just in case, to make sure that the cable to the socket is same as to the switch).

The wiring behind the remote switched 13A socket will not be up to the job of running a 9kw cooker, so no you cannot just replace the socket with a cooker outlet.0

The Op said the switch was wired to a 32A mcb. But we don't know about the wiring from the switch to the socket. I would also wonder if the switch is separately wired to a cooker outlet, lower down the wall?tonyh66 said:0 -
Doh! that's what happens when you skim read. If that switch is wired to a 32A mcb with the correct wire, then it's easy to replace the socket with an outlet.Apodemus said:

I read the OP as wanting to connect in the cooker AND have a socket.grumbler said:Le_Kirk said:How about something like this <<<<LINK.
