Driving Theory Test
Hi there,
I was meant to sit my practical driving test on the day of the first lockdown so although I was test ready and got a weeks worth of lessons the day before my test my driving instructor got a phone call to say all tests were cancelled for the foreseeable. This was in March 2020, and my theory pass ran out in July 2020. I went back and sat my theory test again when lockdown measures were eased and unfortunately failed. After that I was unable to book another theory test. Any time I go on to the website to book it says that no tests are available. I am based in Scotland and can not find a theory test centre that has an available test any time I check. I contacted the DVSA who advised they could not give me a specific time as to when the tests become available online. I have tried at 12am, first thing in the morning/9am/ the afternoon and keep getting the same message. Does anyone have any tips as to how I can get my theory test booked and can then try and sit my practical test?

Our daughter went through this recently.
You really just have to keep trying, as they do release theory test bookings in blocks at weird times and without warning.
I think they must wait to see what days they will have staff or something.
You can literally see no tests when you check one minute, then a whole day's worth will pop up minutes later.
I got used to checking from my desk every 1.2 hour or so.
With regard to the practical test, once you are allocated a date and reference there are apps you can buy that will automatically look for and book cancellations for you.
In our daughter's case (and friends), we literally saved months using the app.
