have got an old garden shed which has been painted with shed paint in green but have decided to do the door grey got johnstones shed nd fence paint in grey but is does not cover the existing paint its had 4 coats now & the green is still showing through ,would i be able to do the dooor in gloss paint atall or does the door need some sort of preperation for shed paint to cover the green paint or is the johnstones paint no good .thanks

No idea about your paint but i bought standard wood paint, not fence/shed paint/stain, in yellow and purple to paint mine and it covered the old Johnston's wood stain up.0

Nothing wrong with Johnstone's paints - it's usually considered a top brand.
We really need to know the type of 'paint' used before, and what the J's paint type is too.'Shed and fence' paint - the stuff you get in huge tubs and is like a gel - isn't really 'paint' at all, and only works on rough sawn wood. Only the same type of 'paint' will go on to it and stick properly. Not sure what happens if you go for a colour change.Types of the two paints involved?1
