O/S Daily Wednesday 28 April 2021
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, cloudy and overcast we did some rain yesterday and today looks like we might get some more.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO's from the roast - I just added some more mash, and fresh veg. Tonight we'll be having HM chicken and mushroom pie, mash, peas and gravy.
Yesterday work was busy and will continue to be so for the moment.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A bit drab looking outside but no rain forecast. We finally got the promised shower last night but sadly not enough to freshen the gardens up.
The windows never got cleaned yesterday as there was a change of plan! DD rang to see if I fancied a tour of the outlying houseware shops! It made a nice change and I bought all sorts of stuff I didn't know I needed!! And some I did need! I got a lovely new set of china mugs from TKMaxx but they didn't cost me anything as I used the gift card I was given for my birthday last month!
And they won't get cleaned today either as my bus buddies and I are off to Skipton again for a wander and, all being well, wine 'n' dine al fresco! No rain is forecast so we are hoping we won't end up eating a soggy lunch! We will aim for the Black Horse again in the hope they are still doing the scrumptious steak and cheese pie we had 2 weeks ago.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and poorly loved ones. Thinking of GERS and DM, NELS and MARIE. Good to hear SNOOZER's Steve is feeling better but Grr to those pesky dog fleas! I hope DUMPLING didn't have any more commode disasters. NAN I know just how you are feeling about Friday. Fingers crossed. BELLA you have reminded me why I can't face moving from here, as much as I would like somewhere more manageable. There is so much upheaval involved with moving home. Take care one and all stay safe x

Morning All
I've been walking this morning and swam last night - the treacle in the pool seemed to be a little more diluted yesterday!
Another busy day in store at work, my colleague doesn't seem to be doing any work, just sits with a grumpy face. If this carries on I'll have to say something as I'm drowning in work.
White wash was done last night but not sure the weather is good enough to put it out so it can stay on the airer today. Must clean the bathrooms later and have a hoover round.
Hugs to those in need, thinking of Gers and her DM, Marie, Nelski and dumpling.
Take care. XX13 -
Just a quick one, I'm off to Laura's to help with Esben while she works and Brian is out. We had to go to Cambridge yesterday for injections to try to build up Steve's immune response so I'm sticking him in the stomach for a few days. His next treatment has been postponed until it recovers a bit.15

Morning all.
Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need.
Shopping today, Steve has a blood test and I need to collect our prescriptions. We've moved along the field and are now a better distance from the tow path.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.14 -
Morning all...Decidely wet and cold this morning. No gardening for me today but I did manage to move some slabs and a couple of breeze blocks yesterday to make a stand for the new compost bin [if it ever arrives...the great big river in South America has spolied me for instant gratification while shopping] Today someone is coming to sharpen my knives and lawnmower so that should be interesting. I remember the guy who used to do it when we were in Italy. He did all of the cutlery knives as well, they were sharp enough to drop fabric on them and be sliced in half. Meal times were very fraught at times. We still have those knives..I'm going to be mortifed at the state of the lawnmower so I shall have to go and remove any old grass, kind of like cleaning for the cleaner...Otherwise nothing interesting today. I did just try to get money out of the cashpoint but it's not working. I had to fight my way through all the old men waiting for the shop to open at seven so they could get their morning papers. If anyone ever sees me do that, shoot me. I also spoke to the lovely cholesterol doc who told me basically the stuff I was taking was for an instant result and take it less often. I did say I'd do that if it got too bad , obviously thinking I was tough enough to Chuck Norris pain in the eye, after spending twenty minutes trying to get out of bed this morning and feeling like all my ribs had been removed and put back in the wrong place I believe wimping out is the better part of valour.Monna, not cloned, just double bubble glitching. Snoozer, hope you get on top of the fleas but not literally obviously. TA, get you being all peripatetic. It is nice to get out though. Enjoy your lunch out! Nice to see you eagle-eyes mehefin! Gers, hope stuff is OK, if not, hugs. Right, up and at 'em today, I will be proactive and all that jazz, stay safe and mostly dry if you canNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi15

Morning all. Lovely to see folks getting out and about a bit more these days although I heard it raining in the night and it looks a bit chilly out there this morning.
Yesterday was our child care day so we went out to try and wear him out! Seems to have worked as DD said he was in bed asleep at 6.10pm :smiley
Today I'm meeting a couple of friends for coffee. We're going to our usual place, as we can all walk there, but will have to sit outside in the courtyard so warm clothing required by the look of it. We haven't see each other since the autumn so there will be a lot of catching up to do.
Other than that I need to sort something out for dinner and do some music practice.
Have a good day everyone and thoughts to all those poorly at the moment.15 -
Morning folks. After the rain yesterday it's still very cool outside.Things have become much more difficult here, the past couple of days especially bad. The GP came out again and spent ages with DM. We're expecting a couple of district nurses this morning. Once they've been I'll try to catch up on some sleep.Hugs to all the poorlies. Happy Wednesday to all.14
