I download my credit card statement as a CSV every month. The annoying thing is it is capped at 100 transactions, so anything beyond that gets left out.
I wanted to check if anyone found a solution to this problem. HSBC removing the download csv functionality is very annoying. It seems my only option is to download the pdf statements, and convert from pdf to csv using some kind of online converter program. My issue with this is uploading bank statements to a random website feels risky, and after a bit of research most of these website charge quite a bit if you need to convert more then a few documents. Can anyone recommend a good free converter program?
If you use Excel, its native conversion functionality is perhaps worth a try - Data / Get Data / From File / From PDF offers a fairly rudimentary facility that may fit relatively simple requirements without needing to go online?
I've tried a few PDF extractor tools but it's all too fiddly. Removing the ability to download a CSV file for transactions over ~40 days old is an incredible omission, especially bearing in mind that managing financial transactions is the ONLY thing I need HSBC for! HSBC confirmed on a chat this morning that this feature is not available, so I'll give it a couple of months to see if it comes back but then move banks. It's too much work without it.
