Hi just been told not entitled to 4th session grant. I turned self employed on 1st October 2019 so didn't qualify for 1st three grants. Then when 4th was to become available I could claim as I thought I met all criteria. It turns out I don't as to he hrmc I had two jobs and I paid more tax in my employment as compared to my self employment. My argument is I never had two jobs at the same time and as I set up business 6 months into the financial year to become self employed Driving instructor and as a result my paye as a joiner I made more in first 6mths so my self employment was not classified as main earner but they were never being run at same time off page on September 19th. Surely this can't be correct so as it stands I will receive absolutely nothing from the UK government. Can anyone advise on anything I can do

Its right, you may not have been payee and self employed at the same time but they mean in the same financial year. In which you say you earned more as payee.0

You are not allowed to earn more than 50% income from other sources In a tax year, PAYE, Pensions, Lettings, Dividends etc. Your job as a joiner nullified you from SEISS as you earned more than 50% of your income as PAYE, for that tax year1

Yep, sadly it's right. It's probably the worst of the many reasons why the SEISS scheme is so unfair and why many of the 3 million were (and still are) excluded. It's why there's been such a fuss/campaigns etc but Rishi is deaf to common sense and won't change his rules.0
