My IMAC is playing up and as its a 2012 edition and I have already spent @£200 having it fixed but still having problems looking to use my 2018 MacbookAir as main computer but link it to a 27 inch monitor.
Main use- Spreadsheets, internet and Nextflix.
Hoping to Sell iMac which has SSD + 16GB RAM.
Lots of choice hence ask for recommendations- budget £200.
Thanks

I've been impressed with my HP 24" monitor @ £120. Amazon lists several HP 27" fitting your budget.1

Depends on the resolution you want/need. 1080 dpi 27" monitors are as cheap as chips now but for Quad HD you'll have to go over £200.0

Above suggestions are ok, I also have HP monitors - I have 2x the 24" version of this one and have been using for over a year, really good.

One thing worth mentioning though is your ports on the Macbook Air - I'm fairly sure it doesn't have native HDMI / displayport so just check, you will probably need either a USB-C or Thunderbolt to HDMI/ Display port adaptor as required by the monitor you choose - just check and research that before as there will be some extra spend involved.

Just over £90 total cost at the moment. Retails new £300 on Amazon

thinking 24 inch may be ok - it’s clarity that will have my priority - for spreadsheets, email , watching Netflix.

I'd say look at Asus
I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.1 -

A bit over your budget at £257 on amazon
with USB-C which can keep your Air charged and give extra connectivity
