I am considering a hybrid car - but have driven CVT and similar conventional engined cars in the past and prefer a proper Torque Converter auto box
I believe that limits me to Hyundai / Kia - maybe I am wrong
Any advice/suggestions'/recommendations ?

Think Mercedes and BMW also have torque convertor autos

Some Kia/Hyundai models have DCT boxes (dual clutch). Others have traditional torque converters.Deleted_User said:I am considering a hybrid car - but have driven CVT and similar conventional engined cars in the past and prefer a proper Torque Converter auto boxI believe that limits me to Hyundai / Kia - maybe I am wrongAny advice/suggestions'/recommendations ?0 -

I think the Honda autos use a a torque converter and an automated "manual" gearbox, the V6 accord does as speedkar99 stripped one down on youtube.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Do they still produce torque converter autos, I thought they'd completely switched to DCT now?marlot said:

The last model I know with certainty they offered with a torque converter box was the Venga/ix20 which was discontinued in 2019.

OP, i can understand your dislike of CVT auto boxes, but is there really an issue with other versions, such as a dual clutch auto? Are you really limiting the choice to torque convertors only?No free lunch, and no free laptop
