Accountant forgot to sent Tax return

    Exact same thing happened to me, accountant forgot to press submit. He won’t claim his insurance, but will pay the late fee fines we received. I feel so mad and sad about it, but absolutely nothing we can do.

    There is plenty you can do: LBA asking him to pay your losses, then small claims process if he does not. I cannot see how you can lose: it's clear negligence.
    His liability insurance claim is not your concern.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    I have responded on your own thread, but assuming the situation is as you claim and you didn’t miss any warnings or time limits issued by your accountant then you have a claim. The fact that the accountant has paid the late fee strengthens your claim .
