Hi all
My partner has the above laptop that's suddenly decided not to turn on.
I've checked the power supply with a multi-meter and that seems fine (around 20V at the output) and the socket on the motherboard seems to be OK (all the joints seem to be nicely soldered).
There should be a small LED near the power button that lights up when it's either on (i.e. in use) or charging and that's not coming on either.
Anyone any ideas what else I can check?
TIA
Richard

Presume you've removed the battery, held down the power button for 30 seconds and tried without battery just on mains?

I'm not sure you can remove the battery on this. I'll have another look.
I did completely forget about the 30-second things though. I'll try that even if I can't get the battery out (it looks like the battery is dead anyway).:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Quick update.....
Removed the battery, held the power button down for at least 30 seconds and tried with just the power cable.
Still nothing unfortunately.
Anything else I can try?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Most likely board failure.

Also, just because you have 20v at the socket, doesn't mean the charger can supply 20v under load.
If you can, try it with a different charger.
Or, it you have the skills, rig up the charger in such a way as you can measure the current going to the laptop to see if charger is still working.
Or connect the charger to the laptop, and measure the voltage (on the motherboard joints) to see if the voltage is still 20v under load - although without a current measuring system you don't know what current the laptop is pulling.0
