Buying a new pc - do I install Vista?

I'll be buying a new desktop pc in the New Year for general purpose. Not greatly into downloads, just surfing, emailing and wordprocessing.

Which OS do people recommend I get?

I dont think its going to make much difference for your requirements. XP or Vista, both are good, although Vista is more resource heavy.

  • You are buying a new PC therefore you really should be buying a "current" operating system. Failure to do so may see your chosen OS having limited support sooner.

The chances are that Vista will come as standard and to be honest, for what you say you are using it for, it will do everything that you want and much much more.

if your getting a new pc (uptodate pc{model not over 12month old }) vista will do the job very good put if it's an oldish one (model over 12 month old)go for xp it will be kinder on it
basicly the new is built for vista and the older one 's are lacking in the resource department (not enough ram)

put you will 99% be getting vista has most off the new stuff has vista on it,unless you get it fron simewhere like dell and then you get to choose
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff
