Plusnet - Bereavement - Praise

My dad signed up with Plusnet for an 18 month contract in February, but then sadly passed away in March. Initially Plusnet wrote to say I had the option of closing the account with no termination fee, or I could take over the existing contract and put it into my name. This would have meant that if I'd transferred it into my name, I'd be liable for the remaining 18 month contract, which wasn't what I was looking for, as I only wanted to maintain a connection at my dad's house until it was sold, of which the timescale would be difficult to predict.

I wanted the connection as I have fire alarms/burglar alarms and CCTV that are all primarily reliant on a connection, and didn't want to lose sight of the house while the process of getting it ready for sale. After some discussions with Plusnet through their online message facility, they agreed to allow me to take over the contract, continue paying it for as long as I need it, and on termination they wouldn't charge any fees. They also waived a month of connection fees after my dad passed.

So that's a recommendation from me for being understanding and flexible at a time when it's very much appreciated.
