PCN for stopping in bus stop

Hi all, have received a PCN letter from the council this morning.

They have cctv footage of me stopping in bus stop. I didn’t know this was illegal and there was still plenty of room for the bus to pull in ahead of my car.

I was doing a charity food collection from Tesco and there were some heavy bags of things to collect so I moved my car down the road to load them in more easily. There was no other space to park close to the shop and I had my hazard lights on. In the picture they have sent you can see the man from Tesco giving me a hand to put things in. 

I didn’t know that they had cctv on this bus stop, and am really worried because I think I have stopped in the same place again since then, possibly a couple of times.

I know it doesn’t matter in relation to the PCN but once my rent and bills are paid I only have £75 spare each month so genuinely can’t afford to pay this (especially if there are more coming my way) and feel really gutted that it has happened when I was trying to do a good thing 😔

Would really appreciate any advice on whether there would be any grounds to appeal it or anything I can do? Thanks

You need to post over on pepipoo fightback forums using a non Hotmail email address for sign-up , in their council section , after reading the posting requirements in their rules

You'll have no grounds for appeal if you pulled into a bus stop during the hours of operation.    You could have parked on double yellow and been fine! 

People really need to gen up on where to stop and where not to stop.
