I'm trying to work out if we're eligible for anything through this scheme. I think we're not from my reading but maybe one of you knowledgeable folk know better.

Husband became wedding celebrant in April 2019. The nature of the business means you take bookings 6-12m prior to event so all bookings were for spring summer 2020. He did one wedding in January 2020 then lockdown came and all weddings were postponed.

Technically he had the bookings in 2019 with £100 dpossit to secure but he only asks couples to pay balance by 24hrs prior to ceremony.

On his 2019/20 tax return he only has a few hundred pounds incom~ but he lost a few geand 2020 /21. Are we going to be able to get nythung

Was his 2019/20 profit at least equal to his other taxable income? If not, as a new starter in 2019/20 (so no earlier years to look at), he will not qualify. (Even if he does, and meets all the other conditions, the grant can only be based on his small 2019/20 income.)
