Faulty razor

Just wondering if there's anyone on here that can advise me..January 2021 purchased a pack of Bic razors the miss soleil ..took out of the packet and pli have ace in a plastic storage tub I alway store my razors in..I had already used 3 with no trouble at all..25th Feb 2021 I used the last razor I had left..in the bath did my normal shaving gel on my legs..took the protective off the razor and proceded to shave my leg..first stroke I felt the sharpes pain on my calf..with inspection I had badly cut my leg..I looked at the razor and on inspection the blade on the razor was damaged..
So I took photos of my leg, razor and found a picture online and sent a complaint to the company..They replied to me asking me to fill a questionnaire out and send the razor back to them for inspection..recorded delivery to France..waited..send 2 emails asking what was taking so long..after nearly 2 months I heard back from then 21st April 2021..with a verdict of the razor had been inspected..and according to them the plastic was damaged and the fault on the blade was not something that happened through manufacturer ..so the are not responsible for it.. Im absolutely fuming isn't the word how a big company like that can not for one take responsibility for one of there product..im left with a 8cm scar on my leg..I have since emailed them back stating how upset I am over this matter, contacted my local citizens advice..and they are going to send information to trading standards..with all this is there anything further i can do or someone e to advise me what to do next..x

Strictly speaking it could have happened anywhere down the supply chain including your own house (no matter how carefully you claim to have handled them).  They have examined the item and deemed it was not a manufacturing fault so you need to look elsewhere; maybe they got crushed during transit, maybe you threw a can of beans on top of the razors when packing your shopping - I doubt if we will ever know.

What, or how much, are you wanting?

The damage was definitely not done while it was in my possession.  Just an apology..or even my money back for the razors

You can not prove, nor be sure that the damage did not occur in your possession. The evidence that you rubbed a damaged, multi bladed article against your leg without first inspecting it for damage would be evidence enough that you do not take adequate care.

Unfortunately you do not know when the damage was done - at best you can only guess it was not while in your possession.

What good will an apology do?  I remember one manager who was well known for dictating his 'letters of apology' (they could not be repeated on this board without me getting banned - but usually involved taking something, turning it sideways ... and you probably know the rest), fortunately the customer service agents knew how to find a standard template or pull together a few standard paragraphs (all pre-approved by the legal department) and create a letter of apology.  Such letters are meaningless 21st century faux empathy - it is the persons job to make you think they care, and many are very good at it.  Basically they are the commercial equivalent of a mumsnet 'U OK Huns'

As far as getting your money back I would have been inclined to approach the place that I purchased them from - that would have more likely got you a positive result.  However you no longer have the razor in your possession - but you may be able to show them the letter and see if they will replace them for you.
