Post Office: Rejected after saying accepted?

I applied for a Post Office credit card, my score was poor due to me being silly in the past. I have now managed to get it up into the ‘good’ sector on Experian. I got accepted after filling out all the information for PO, got an email to confirm a few days ago and said my card will be sent out.

A letter came today saying I’ve been rejected and the usual spiel about contacting Experian etc? Please help?

I know I’ve probably been declined for my poor score in the past, but why accept me and then decline me?

The PO aren't very good at the application side of things. It's not uncommon.

But check the data on your three files (not the scores) to see if there are any obvious problems.

I would think it’s not the post office that have anything to do with the application side of things as capital one run and manage the card.

So it’s just basically a Capital One card with Post Office branding.

They would have said like most providers that you will be accepted providing you pass there additional security checks.

Which in this case you haven’t and they won’t tell you why you haven’t and just use the standard check your credit files spiel.
