No, they haven't and orders may still be delivered to a different address to that of the account holder.

I have had multiple frauds on different cards, one of them brand new.

In reply to others comments: Yes I can understand how a card which has been used elsewhere and has become dormant, could easily be compromised, perhaps years later. Obviously in that case third parties are aware of the card number.

But I can assure you this card was never used and no replacement was issued. It was destroyed and cut up into pieces and returned to RBS immediate on receipt in 2018. It didn’t have the same card number or expiry as my previous card either (that was why it was destroyed and returned).

The same thing has just happened to me. I’ve had a credit card from TSB since 2019 but have never used it. Today when I checked my bank account the card has been used for £90.45 for Lancôme items and is now signed up to a subscription for on going goods. I spent an hour on the phone with TSB reporting the fraud and although they say they will refund this payment and have cancelled the card they are unable to explain how this has occurred. They’ve asked me to check for further purchases coming through because this was made on 21st and there could be more. The CVV on the back of the card was used too
