                    Hi All,
I'm interested in the Halifax Switch for £100, however, to attain the £5 per month either £5k has to be kept in or £500 in direct debits. I wouldn't be spending £500 per month and I'm not sure about holding £5k in this account, are there any other options with the £500 spend?

It's £500 in debt card spending so general purchases, travel costs, groceries or credit bill payments would count.0

The switch bonus is not related to the monthly reward offers. There is a Halifax switch thread here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6257593/halifax-100-switch-incentive
The reward offer is discussed in this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6113322/halifax-reward-account-changing-to-3-charge-with-lifestyle-rewards#latest
Note that the reward account costs £3 a month if you are not paying in at least £1,500 a month. You also do not need any direct debits for the rewards but there is a debit card option. Please read the terms and conditions on the Halifax website https://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/current-accounts/reward-current-account.html
