Sinclair Spectrum ZX Stuff

My wife is helping her sister sort out her late husbands effects after he sadly passed away, he was a bit of an electronics/gadget buff who tended not to throw anything away but at the same time bought a lot of stuff. As a result there is a veritable mountain of stuff to go through - we've managed to fill two crates with just chargers and cables - which can go to recycling.

There are also a couple of boxes of Sinclair Spectrum, Games, interfaces, manuals etc. I understand that some of it is becoming collectible but we just don't have the time to go through it & don't know what the bits are anyway or which are sort after (if any).

Any ideas what to do with it, if we could sell it, great  - it would be a bit of cash for the sister, but don't know where to start.

  • The simplest way is to put it on Ebay and get what you can for it. You could try here https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/forums/ Start a thread with photos of what you have and you'll be told if there's anything of particular value there.

But give a man a fishing rod, and he'll sell it and buy alcohol.

Bulk box of computer stuff, unless your willing to put it into smaller bundles.

Sometimes the stuff is worthless and sometimes you may have something rare. Is anything boxed and in perfect condition
(including the box)?   Collectors can be very picky on having perfect boxes and manuals.

Our local freecyle has a few that will take just about anything computer related.

Saves a trip to the tip.

Even a box of power adaptors can be useful to people rather than dumping them.

Some salvage parts to make computers to give away some probably sell on.

For the retro stuff as said try the dedicated forums

Not sure where you are but there's a company in Stoke, near to the mecca of footballing excellence, that recycles old PCs
