Hi this is my very first post on here I am having big problems with EON right now well really it all started back in 2019 when I took EON to teh Ombudsman who upheld my complaint and was awarded an apology letter and £75 on my meters for not been able to top up my meters a lot of the time on their app and website now I complained to them again and their resolution centre said they will send me an apology letter again and this awarded me £90 so I emailed them at least 5 times and still no letter no money either and now they are saying I was outside the 21 days limit in replying to them which is completely and utterly untrue as I said still waiting for a reply after at least 5 emails sent to the Resolutions department a month after I emailed them and I complained about it now they are saying I never emailed them and that they want all my details that have beens given loads of times since the complaints were raised and I tried topping up my meters less than 30 minutes ago and all I get is "this page has been timed out" meaning I can not top my meters up at all right now and need advice on where to go and what I can do to take these to court I am really sick of these and not many companies will tough payasyougo Smart meters well supposed to smart anyway lol so basically that is where I am right now so any help and/or advice I can get will be much appreciated and that we are on benefits so can't afford to pay for legal advice. Thank you in advance.

If you are having issues topping up your meter, they have information on their twitter feed dated 20 April about troubleshooting the app and are also open till 8 to DM them.

I do have to ask why you are still with them if they are being so unhelpful to you.

You won't get legal advice on here; what you will get is a variety of opinions, some informed and some less so,
Can you clarify exactly what you are wanting to take them to court for?

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

If you need legal advice then you need to consult a solicitor - you'll get lots of well meaning advice on the forum but in the end it can only be our opinion and will have no legal standing and in some cases it may make matters worse.

I agree 100%. Unless you have written confirmation that you can provide to a Court that a supplier promised to pay you £x, and you can show that they haven’t done so then you are wasting your time: Small Claims Courts base their judgements on evidence. At the very least, you need an Ombudsman Decision to support any claim. In your situation, I would go and talk to a Citizens’ Advice Energy Adviser. In certain cases, they have direct access to the CEO’s office.

As others have said, if you are so frustrated with E.oN then why are you still a customer?

You said why am I still with EON simple reason is a lot of companies won't deal with pre-payment smart meters like The People's Energy they wont even touch anyone with any pre-payment meters and some will only do online accounts with these meters yet wont even do an app so that is why I am still with this pathetic company seen as I am not getting any bloody help at all on no point having a damn account waste of time this is.

You think I haven't tried these things some on I wouldn't be here if I hadn't tried them EON just wont help at all been going on nearly 3 years now and still the damn same yet nobody willing to help even on here.
  • So nobody willing to help thought thats what this site was for people to get help and advice but no just like EON a waste of space this place is no point having an account on here.

People are willing to help, but you’re doing yourself no favours by posting that wall of text without any punctuation in it. If you can’t even spend two minutes formatting your post then why should people put in the effort to try to unpick your issue?

If you want help re-write it in a way that will encourage people to engage with you.

You wall of text was a bit of a rant but the title suggested that you wanted legal advice - for that you need a solicitor not the collective opinions of an on line forum.

We are willing to help, and people have tried to give what advice they think is appropriate. There's no point in getting snotty because no one has come up with a solution that satifies you or solves your problem.

If Eon aren't doing what they should and you've tried the ombudsman and Eon are still not responding correctly then what do you think we can do about it.

Personally I'd just move supplier and get a credit meter rather than continue beating my head against a brick wall with Eon
