Utility point customer please

Hi All,
As per the title I need a second opinion from a Utility point customer that I am with.
For the last three years they have dragged their feet wearing out countless pairs of shoes delaying type 2 smart meters, is my understanding consistant with the experience of others?
Where I live is Stratford-CV37, hardly a hamlet or back water, that is called Shitson on Stour.
As I understand it smart meters use mobile phone technology to send readings. I here and now get faster 4G broadband than ADSL.
Yes I've tried to find other energy companies to replace utility point, even knowing Stratford-cv37 is where I live they won't comit, they want me to sign up to them first,sorry!!!! do I miss some thing, I don't have to switch neither will I be left in the dark if I don't. Fitting the meter is not going to put anyone at risk, this isn't Chernobyl or Fukushima

Does Utility Point support Smart Meters?
We don’t currently support smart meters, but we will do in the future. If you already have a smart meter, we can still take over your supply, but your meter would revert to behaving like a normal meter. You will need to provide us with monthly meter readings using your online account to make sure your energy statements are accurate.
