Useless Guarantees.

Amazon will not deal with 5 year quarantees if the item was purchased more than 2 years ago. I bought a CTEK battery charger that cost over £60 from Amazon in December 2018, it has been used 3 times and now won't charge my car battery. CTEK UK aren't interested. Amazon don't want to know.  The charger is made in Sweden.

I would expect any extended warranty to be backed by the company and not Amazon.

You need to check exactly what the guarantee says.

If tat fails you will probably have a claim against Amazon on durability.

Read the guarantee. It is nothing to do with amazon. Since the Uk company does not want to know either it is a grey import and you need to go to the country of origin (probably not worth it). Or maybe you did not register the guarantee within 30 days which is often a requirement.

Or if you can denonstrate that the item doesn't meet the standard you're entitled to under your statutory rights (i.e. it had some inherent defect), you would have the right to pursue Amazon. But talking to them about the manufacturer's guarantee muddies the waters.

If there was a guarantee with the product it would tell you what you need to do in order to claim under the warranty the manufacturer offer.

More likely that the battery is beyond saving.

Have you tried the charger on any other batteries?

I have one permanently connected to a bike. After the previous battery could not be recovered. Had been sat flat for far too long.

Even Ctec say

Saves battery life

Up to three times more battery life if you charge with CTEK. 

Not that it gives indefinite battery life.
