PCN issued - Zip Car - Payment Issue

Hi all.

I had gotten a vehicle through ZipCar in London for a couple of hours on 22/03/2021 and there was a PCN issued by Ealing Council which went to Avis/Zipcar as they own the vehicle.

Zipcar rightly informed me of the violation by email on 07/04/2021 and said that I should NOT pay the PCN until I am contacted directly by the council.

However, it has been a month now and I have not heard anything from the council at all. I have tried to get in touch with them, but they only want stuff in writing and even that can take two weeks for them to reply. I do not want to dispute the PCN (as I was at fault), I just want to pay it; but unable to do so until PCN is in my name.

My worry is that the charge will keep increasing until I hear from the council and then I may be liable for a lot more than the original price of £65. Has anyone had an experience of getting (and paying PCN) issued through ZipCar/Car Hire?

Thanks for reading - awaiting replies.

As we major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Register there but please note that a hotmail address won't work - try using a throwaway gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering and post a new thread; here's your link:

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
