I paid £26 to join then but cancelled the same day. I was told my card would take 30 days to be refunded. Its now 30 days so i rang to see about the refund. Now i am told it will take another 5 days. How do they get away with this.

Possibly in a similar way to you taking out a contracts and then cancelling it the same day.
Once you've started a contract with a company they have a process to work through which can take some time to sort out if you decide to terminate. I guess you'll just have to be patient
