When an Eligible person who can have the vaccine in a priority group can try to book a vaccine from the nhs web site,
where you enter your NHS number and dob for them to see..is
What is the main procedure?
Do they provide you with optional locations to where you can get it?
can you chose the location?
and do you receive a Text confirming your appointment day and time?
and I know this varies per personal experience but how many days apart from when you book this on the Nhs site is your vaccine date?
for example, you booked your appointment on March 1st, and they gave you the appointment date on the 10th April 2021.

When you enter your details yes, you get a list of venues nearest to you.
And yes, you can choose which one you want to go to.
When I booked I simply picked the one nearest to me and I didn't look at the availability at other sites, as they were more distant; my first choice was still almost half an hour away. The first available appointment at my chosen site was 17 days away from the time I booked.
Then a couple of days later I also got an invite via my GP surgery who could offer me an appointment in 9 days, so I booked that and cancelled the other. The advantage of booking at the main sites is, you get to pick your second vaccination date when you book your first. I need to wait for my GP surgery to contact me with a date for my second.0 -
When I booked, my first appointment was 3 hours later on the same day.1

They give you a list of centres, once you’ve picked a centre, they tell you the dates available and then the times. If you want to re-arrange a booked appointment, you have to cancel the booked one first.
gap to appointment is variable, from same day to some weeks ahead.
as I’ve said before, in England if you have had Astra Zeneca through your gp, you can book your second online. Wait 24-48 hours for it to show on the system.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. they do provide options , if non are suitable keep going back as new slots and locations appear through out the day , the tricky bit is booking the 2nd dose at a location that is suitable
I booked for one of my employers and it took a couple of hours of refreshing the page ( he doesnt drive so they had to be cloe enough for a taxi )Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
Cheers.
Do they send you a text message, to give/confirn the day and time if the vaccine.
And do you get a piece of paper/ card you can take back with you, which verifies you have taken it.

Yes, you get a text confirming your booking number, date, time and location of the appointment.
I had my jab at my GP surgery and got a credit-card sized card confirming which vaccine I’d had, the date and the batch number. They ask you to bring it back when you have the second jab so they can update it. I assume it’s the same at the larger vaccination centres.0 -
I was given my appointment by phone by the GP surgery. No paperwork, no text. At the vaccination centre the nearest I got to ID was to be asked my name and date of birth - not even my appointment time. And they had nothing in front of them on a screen or paper to check because I was vaccinated in the car park.
