Sports Direct, buying in store, am I entitled to refund if I can't try item on

I assume that shops are still not allowed to use changing rooms. I need some sports leggings. I know in the past if you return a store item you get a credit note not cash refund. If you are not able to try on the item this can prove to be an expensive credit note.
I have tried to Google returns policies but can only find online details. Thanks

It's credit note or exchange if you return items to store. As on their website.

You could always order from or go shopping somewhere else where you can get a refund if things don't fit. There are more shops who sell sportswear than Sports Direct. Of course they don't have to offer refunds unless items are faulty but it would be in their best interests to do so because they're going to lose custom.

There is no right to a change of mind return to any bricks and mortar store unless they specifically allow it.

The government arent stopping them opening the changing rooms, they are allowed to be open but the store has to consider how to manage the small enclosed space. Ventilation to disperse covid-19 particle is important and if they can't ventilate the area well, or manage it to have a five minute break between users or similar the store may decide not to open the changing rooms. Also the small enclosed areas outside them may be a risk to staff if they can't socially distance well from customers.
So they are allowed to open the changing room, they just have to risk asses and have a plan in place. Given Sports Direct don't seem to like opening up fitting rooms even without covid I doubt they can be bothered to care about customers.
