Undelivered item finally turns up, but...

Hi.
We ordered a bed from a company online back in Feb and we were quoted a delivery time of 2-3 weeks.
After 6 weeks, we hadn't heard anything and could not get in touch with anyone from the company via telephone, email or social media. So we filed a claim with our credit card company due to not receiving the bed, and we received a refund in full the same day. Great news for us, so we purchased a bed from elsewhere.
Then today, out of the blue, our original bed that we ordered has turned up.
Where do me and my partner stand now? Do we have to notify our credit card that the bed has turned up eventually? As we don't want to seem as though we have fraudulently claimed.
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, speak to the card company to let them know, and call the retailer to ask them to collect the bed.0

Did you refuse to take the delivery?0

Of course you do. You haven't paid for it, so it isn't yours0

Stand in the corner I guess - room will be full with 2 beds in it
And no - it's not unsolicited.
IF you accepted delivery -- why2 -
How does the OP do this when the company don't respond ?Aylesbury_Duck said:Yes, speak to the card company to let them know, and call the retailer to ask them to collect the bed.
I would not waste a second of my time trying to contact a company who had previously given me the run around

They had trouble contacting them a few weeks ago. It might be possible now.Jumblebumble said:

Your choice in that situation, as long as you're happy to store the bed until it's eventually collected or you've been told you can keep/scrap it. If you have the room for it, fair enough.0 -
Rejecting the delivery would have been the best idea...babbleo said:Hi.

But as that didn’t happen, you now have an obligation to store the bed, and give the company a reasonable amount of time to collect it.
They might be more responsive as you have something of theirs... Just send them a letter explaining that the bed has now arrived but you have already been refunded so can they now collect it.
when you got a refund from the credit card company, did you actually send a notification of cancellation to the company to let them know in writing that you wanted to cancel?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)1 -
I wasn't in when it was delivered. It was left down the side of my house. I couldn't of refused even if I wanted to.Keep_pedalling said:Did you refuse to take the delivery?0 -
Technically, I guess it could be argued that you didn't accept delivery and that it's nothing to do with you then.0
