in Credit cards
Good morning and hello.HAs anyone had experience with Walker Love .They have got a court order to recover a 4500 credit card debt from me. Can I ignore them as I have read they can only arrest from your bank if you have over 530 in one account . I have a van which is essential for my business which is parked in the street but i understand they cannot take it . Thanks in advance

I would be very careful of going by anecdotal "advice" - where did you read this ?

I read this on citizens advice website.0

I think you've been ignoring this for too long already, if I'm honest.
Do you know what kind of order the court assigned?
Bank arrestment - They can take any amount over £529.## (can't remember the exact figure but it's something like £529.52)
Wage Arrestment - Regular deduction from your monthly salary
Attachment Order - Remove goods from outside your house
Exceptional Attachment Order - Can enter your home and take stuff.
Generally you can't get an Exceptional Attachment Order unless they have made reasonable attempts to recover the money by the other methods (bank / wage arrestment / attachment order), have any of these things happened?
This only really applies if they are under the impression that doing those things will not generate £100 or more towards the debt, which would likely be the case if you are self employed (are you?)
Have you had a "Charge for Payment" sent to you, giving you 14 days to pay?
It's worth reading their letters very carefully, they deliberately write them so that it looks like they have more powers than they actually do ... I'm wondering if they have actually been to court or if they are just threatening to in a clever/slightly misleading way.
Think you need to get professional help though, talk to Citizens Advice / Step Change etc.
You can't ignore it forever and it won't "go away", I'm not trying to be condescending or anything, but I imagine it'll be a huge relief to you if you're paying them £50 a month (or whatever) and not having to worry about it anymore.1
