Hello
can anyone please point me in the direction of a trustworthy medical negligence solicitor?
can anyone please point me in the direction of a trustworthy medical negligence solicitor?
The big ones on tv adverts scare me a little as I don’t want to be ripped off eventually it’s all been traumatic enough.
Any advice gratefully recieved.

Check APIL and look for someone local to you, who offers Medical Negligence, then try calling them. April is a membership scheme for specialist solicitors who need to meet certain standards - you can also check for someone who is is accredited as a specialist by the law society https://solicitors.lawsociety.org.uk/ which again will mean that that individual has gone through a rigorous assessment / accreditation process
Ideally you would go by personal recommendations but unless you know someone who has recently made a similar claim that's not so easy - although you can ask around about the firm once you have identified one - and check out reviews and how they respond to any negative reviews. You can also look on the Legal Ombudsman site to check a particular firm's record (https://www.legalombudsman.org.uk/information-centre/data-centre/ombudsman-decision-data/)

Good afternoon,
I have a related question having to search for a law firm because the firm on the panel of my insurer doesn't take on my claim.
Do such medical negligence law firms have a revenue threshold, i.e. may I struggle to find a firm to take on my claim because they don't find it sufficiently profitable? Is the refusal by the firm on the insurer's panel indicative of that problem?0 -
Have they given a reason for the refusal?0

Yes, they said that they don't have experience - or the right experience - for my issue. I doubt they would say that they don't take it on because it's not sufficiently profitable.0
