Is my son entitled to Universal Credit?

I am going through the process of recruiting a 'Kickstart' applicant for my business, to give a young person a chance, but also to try and figure out how the process works. TBH it is a minefield but I have linked up with a fantastic organisation in Glasgow, who are holding my hand through the process and they liaise with work coaches. They have got quite a number of young people into interesting positions. They have said that the graduate market are not applying, but that there is a massive need there.
They are the ones who could link up my son with two potential employers in the construction industry and have said that he would be 'at risk' of long term unemployment, particularly in his field, if he does not get some 'real life' experience.
Son is keen so will give it our best shot.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.1
