Advice for dealing with estate agent

    It's really none of my business where my buyer lives, or where my vendors (who did not live at the property) live.

    Put in writing the queries you have and the reason for those queries. Ask for specific answers, remind the estate agent that he is in your employee and you are his customer and as such you expect a response to the queries. 

    Advise him for reasons x, y and z that from now on you’d like to keep all communication in written form and that you will not be contacting him by phone and you do not expect nor will you respond if he tries to respond that way. 

    Explain politely that you’re not happy with his responses to date and his manner is not working for you so this is how you would like to conduct the working relationship from this point on. 

    Otherwise just suck it up, maintain as minimal involvement that you can. If you’re not comfortable with the information provided to date, or after you’ve put the queries in writing, advise him that unless you get satisfactory responses that you will pull the sale. It’s your house and do not be bullied by an EA.
