Whirlpool damaged property

Hi, Whirlpool sent out an engineer to fix our washing machine. While he was here he tore the vinyl flooring in front of the machine. Whirlpool are offering £70 less than the quote to replace the flooring like for like. I don't feel we should be out of pocket but they will not budge and refuse to speak to us, they will only correspond by email. The flooring is only 4 years old and was in perfect condition before the engineer ruined it.
Am I expecting too much asking them to pay the full amount?
Any help is great fully received.

Probably, as you'd be getting brand new flooring to replace 4 year old flooring. What's the total cost?1

Seems fair enough. A brand new vinyl floor to replace your current one would be betterment, so a deduction to reflect the four years' use of the current floor is entirely appropriate.
