Budgeting Advance
Bazaar
Was just wondering if anyone was having trouble in trying to claim one. I have been on uc for 14 months, I had new claim advance which is being paid back, a few months later I took a budgeting advance, I have paid this back in full. Recently I have applied for another budgeting advance only to have been refused even though the reason for applying is secure employment? The uc are saying its because I have not paid back my new claim advances, I thought these were separate. I was already paying back my new claim advances at the time of applying for my first budgeting advance and was accepted for the budgeting advance, now I've paid back the budgeting advance in full I'm not sure why this is now an issue?

It shouldn't be an issue, as you can only have 1 budgeting advance being repaid at anytime, this doesn't include new claim advances.Have you been employed during the past 14 months or had several "new" claims where you have taken a new claim advance each time?0
