Hi all
Up until last year I was working full time then I started my nursing degree April 20 and was getting a bit of a top up from universal credit. Today I saw that I was not going to get a top up anymore due to my student loan. Is that correct?

I’m a single mom of 1 and do take shift once a month where I work. I can’t survive on student loan only. Please help!

Student maintenance loans affect UC and reduce it £1 for £1. Whether the zero UC is correct will totally depend on how much student loan you received and what your maximum UC entitlement is.

I would have thought the student loan should have been taken not account since you started the course.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1
