House Purchase - Subsidence and walk away or just settling and continue?
Comments
-
I sold a house with similar cracks twenty years ago. It was newly built on purchase, 6 years prior to that. I had a survey done prior to putting it on the market and the conclusion was 'natural wear and tear' - and not subsidence. It sold but at less than the asking price because the buyer was concerned about the cracks which - as stated on the surveyor's report - were not serious.
The cracks in your photos don't look too serious to me but if you have any doubts at all, do have a structural survey done. Or, as others have said, walk away.
But I'd definitely have to have the cracks investigated if they bothered me, as they do you. You don't want to end up spending loads of money on a load of rubbish.

Thanks everyone for replying we decided to walk away just don't have the money to get into that sort of fight. Lots of people are falling over themselves to get it so I hope they do there home work ☺️.
Is a crazy market at the moment some properties are ruins but are priced like a brand new house. We have found another property already and it doesn't need a penny spending on it.1 -
