    The original tree looks very much like a peach to me because I grew one from a stone that looked like that.  I think the odd leaf colour is because it is poorly.  My poor little tree died eventually from peach leaf curl.

    Hell, yeah! I used to own a garden with a gravelled area where the previous owners hadn't put down a membrane. Some of the best stuff in my garden had self-seeded in there...

    I too have a strip of gravel out front. I planned a bed there but found major electric from streetlamp to my house in thick concrete.
    I returned the gravel strip.
    It's not full of dwarf Pansies that didn't like it in the flower bed, Campanula, Chives. My neighbours think it's really pretty.
    Completly no maintenance bar the occasional shepherds purse that needs pulling.

    My gravel is full of hollyhocks, borage and foxgloves. I need to move the hollyhocks and foxgloves before they completely block access to the door!
