Who's insurance to contact (RTA)

Probably a silly question but I assume in a road traffic accident where the other party is disputing blame (even though fairly shut & closed that it was their fault), I would contact my own insurance rather than theirs? I also assume I can expect my insurance premium to increase when up for renewal in a couple of months!

You need to declare any accidents immediately to your own insurer. Claims cost money only fair that those involved incur the greater burden.0

You need to inform your insurer or you will end up paying the cost to defend the claim from the other person.

Fair enough regarding the burden. I guess where I was coming from was more along the lines that if the other party relented after some consideration of the situation my own insurance may see as a no claim fault and suggest one of those no fault credit hire places. My understanding is that its best to go through the other parties insurance rather than one of those no blame places as things can sometimes get sticky. My car was hit by a driver while parked on the road a few years ago and as I recall everything was handled by the other parties insurance at their suggestion, hire car & repair all done by their side. So was just in case similar situation although obviously not at the moment since other party seems to want to dispute.0
