Hi, our daughter was scheduled to attend a Camps International expedition to Tanzania this year however the trip is in doubt, the company has not offered an alternate destination and seems to be doing all it can to force travellers to accept a deferment to 2022. With a very large payment already made and the balance due on 1 May the company is relying on the 'disinclination to travel' argument to refuse to refund any monies if we elect to cancel. Is anyone in the same position and/ or have any constructive advice how best to recover the outlay of money earned exclusively for this purpose by the children and now likely to be lost through no fault of their own?

is there an ATOL certificate with the trip?

I suspect if you don't pay the balance when due it will be deemed cancelling...hopefully they may have an update by then.

Thanks Caz - there is an ATOL certificate but this only kicks in if Camps collapse. Having taken some legal advice there are a couple of avenues around the precise wording of the T&C's that ultimately would need to be to testing in a court of law. Sadly we seem to be in a three way contest of brinksmanship and nobody is going come out the winner. Its really sad as her older sister went on a similar expedition with Camps in 2019 and had a fab time.
