Hello, has anyone filled out their own self assessment for claiming tax back for mileage? I dont really want to pay RIFT to do it if i can do it. Can anyone help out with this? Either a how to or calculator etc.
I have done 10468 miles so as far as i can work out its £0.45 for the first 10,000 miles then £0.25 for anything after. So total of £923.40 for me.
Also has anyone claimed back for food cost? I assume its the tax on it.

Dunno if this helps you - it's from my 2004 self-assessment (the last time I did one), so I assume that the numbers will be a out of date. (I've never served in the armed forces, so I know nothing of any special rules that apply to them.)0

I have done it for the past 5-6 years - under additional information as above - never been questioned by HMRC0
