Can you help me repair our Bosch Rotak lawnmower?

Our Bosch Rotak 32 R needs help! Use it for c.5 minutes and it cuts out and smells of burning. I took it apart, cleaned it thoroughly, and found a loose washer; I don't know if that's supposed to be like that, or if not, what it's supposed to be attached to. Can anyone please help? Thanks.

Looks like it might be a dust shield from the bearing that has disintegrated.
You are replacing the bearing aren't you...

I would agree that looks like a ball bearing with no balls!
  • Yes, it's the chewed up remains of a ball bearing.
If you google "replacing motor bearings" you'll find a thousand videos showing you how to remove and replace them. Half a dozen of them will be useful and the others not so.. You'll also instantly recognize all the broken parts in the photo.

Google your lawnmower model number + motor bearings and you'll find a suitable replacement somewhere on line.

You've already dismantled the mower so the rest of the job shouldn't be be too tough.

The fingers crossed bit is putting it everything back together without bits left over.

p.s. The other(outer) half of the B-Bearing will be stuck in the motor frame. That will need removing too. It might have a part number stamped on it.
