Best carrier for a heavy package, price vs reliability...

Hi folks, like a lot of households during lockdown I imagine, I've been getting rid of a lot of dead-weight via ebay. I have a CoOp store very near me and have been using the Hermes drop off point based at the store with generally positive results. However, a couple of times packets have gone missing - both for me as a sender and for packets coming to me... and now I read that conditions for workers at Hermes find themselves in the same situation that often occurs at the budget end of the market...
So, my question is simple, really! I have an item on ebay at the moment that weighs aound 20kg - a ruksac full of outdoors equipment - which carrier do you lovely mse-forum-folks recommend to send this fairly dense package from Bristol to Northumberland?

I assume this is going to be boxed as a lot of carriers will refuse to take unboxed items. The exact weight is important. If it is over 20kg some cheaper options are not available. Here's a search on Parcel2go to give you an ideaUPS drop off service for £8.50 looks a good deal with a reliable company - you will need to pay extra for insurance if you choose to do that.

After having big problems with Parcel2Go and Hermes I now go direct to UPS who have always been reliable when I've used them - both as a sender and recipient. On the one occasion when there were issues, they were sorted out promptly.0
