I am cooking for the dh and I this year. We are having guinea fowl with 30 cloves of garlic a la Delia. We eat in the evening and I am cooking mashed potatoes and sprouts. For afters I have a teeny weeny pud which I bought and shall eat with custard. If we still want anything we shall have a piece of choccy roll. All of it I will cook from scratch on the day because it is not a lot of work. (not the pud or choccy roll!)

Have to say I'm yearning for the guinea fowl, I love them.

I have done lots of the huge family things though and I have always done as much as I could beforehand, usually the night before. I make life as easy as possible on these occasions, but it is always a lot of work which I'm glad to leave behind!
