New build warranty issues - advice please!

Not sure where the best place to post but hopefully it fits here.

We've been in our Bloor property for coming up to a year and sent our second snagging list off some time ago. We have an issue whereby rain drips from the front of the roof on to the top of the bay window roof (which sounds hollow) and creates a really loud dripping noise. Might sound a bit pedantic but it's so loud that it sounds like someone bouncing a tennis ball off of it every few seconds, a bit of a nightmare when you're trying to sleep or relax. The issue is clearly because the roof is leaking at the top, I've even provided video evidence to the effect.

To make a long story short, after many, many emails and phone calls with Bloor we've finally had the roofers come back out today, and the results are shocking. It looks like they've essentially just stuck some painted chipboard on top of our (previously) decorative bay window roof. Not only does this not solve the issue of the leak on the main roof, but it now looks terrible (file attached).

I don't know where we even go from here. I've gone back to Bloor and asked them to revert what they've done but I don't know where I stand now. I did ask them what they were planning on doing prior to them doing the work but they didn't tell me, and just assured me it had fixed the issue on other properties.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated. We've spent years saving up to be able to purchase our own property and I'm feeling really down about it all at the moment.

    That's a bodge, not a repair.

Does their T&Cs in the paperwork allow for a complaint/escalation? If so follow that process.

I do hope you get this sorted. Sounds like Bloors join solicitors on the list of charlatans operating in this field.

Did they even look at the roof i.e. where the drips are actually coming from, not what they splash onto?

It's a terrible photo, but there's one thing I don't think I'm seeing in it...

A gutter on the tiled roof.

Looks like they have angled a fibreglass roof over it. Presumably the roofers have been told it was that what was leaking.
Is the leak just not coming from a gutter, could it be blocked?

First word I thought after looking at it was also ‘Bodge’!!

Yeh sorry it's just a close up of the bay window. The tiled roof doesn't have a gutter on the front because the front looks similar to this:

I'm glad you think so. I did wonder if I was perhaps being a bit unreasonable. I've gone back to the "customer care" team expressing my dissatisfaction. I'll dig out the paperwork and see if I can't find something about escalations and complaints. After talking to some of the neighbours about issues they've had, it seems going the NHBC route might be an option.

They spent all of 5 minutes and poured a 1.5litre bottle of water of the roof (in the wrong place). Apparently that was meant to simulate heavy rain... I told Bloor this quite a few times but they seem to be taking the word of the roofers as gospel.

Yeh that's essentially what they have done. The roofers know exactly what the issue is as they are the ones feeding back to Bloor. To be honest I think the roofers might be pulling the wool over Bloor's eyes.

If it is dripping from the roof there the dry verge has not been correctly installed or is defective.
Water should not be coming through the dry verge.
