Wrongly claimed

My ex partner took over my pub sole trader business on 31-12-2019 so then went self employed .He has been able to claim all the Covid payments of furlough and grants , I’m under the impression that you had to be self employed for 18 months prior to claiming .If this is correct how has he got the payments I’m hoping it’s not in my name.

Has he been able to claim them though do you know that for fact? 

He probably got the grants for the business being closed and not the personal self employed grant. 

As harsh as this will sound how is this any of your business exactly?

If he's committed fraud it's between him and the Crown.  It's none of your beeswax.

Not to worry even if he has in your name. I'm saying this as it was not you that did that and you did not authorise/sign/seen any paperwork in your name to indicate this so
push comes to shove, you will be able to prove your innocence.

If you saw anything in your name which you did not approve and you feel was wrong, it is up to up to inform, HMRC
