Morning all. The sun is shining here but I bet it's still cold outside.
Once DH gets himself up and ready we are going over to Blisworth for a walk along the Grand Union canal. There's a well known long, narrow tunnel there that always fascinates me. The idea of having to move your boat through 18 miles of tunnel by working your way along the sides with your feet sounds dreadful. I think the horses were walked over the top as it was too narrow for them to work.
After that we're hoping to find a pub garden somewhere for a spot of lunch but if they are all booked up we'll just drive home. We are booked for a pub lunch with friends tomorrow so I hope it stays dry for that.
Have a good day everyone.12 -
Morning all.I've been missing for a few days and not caught up yet so hope you are all well.Nmlc hope you get some news today.I caught the bus into town on Monday ( and Tuesday
) It was the 1st time in about 4 months. The only trouble was I bumped into people I knew twice on Monday , stood talking and didn't get done what I wanted to, hence yesterdays trip too.
Yesterday I was sat on the bus and we turned a corner to be met with a scene of panic, a woman was in the road with a head injury and a big wagon stopped. Everyone thought she'd been hit with it but it seems not. There were people waiting for our bus & the stop was a few feet away,2 ladies were really upset, one crying so the driver opened the doors and they sat down. One said the woman seemed to just fall down. Lots of security guards, & 1st aiders from the shopping centre came to assist as the ambulance couldn't get through, it's quite narrow so they took some bollards up and we were redirected along a pedestrianised area with marshalls supervising the people who were on foot, and the ambulance got past. I hope the woman is ok, couldn't stop thinking about it yesterday as we were so close to it.Tea tonight is cottage pie, a big one as DS2 and DGC will hopefully be here too.SM delivery later too, I swapped my T order to next week to take advantage of the £12 off voucher Morries sent me- be rude not to!Hope it's a good day for you all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Afternoon all, I have been MIA due to the increasing boring Ness of my posts but but today is very slightly different though not all that interesting. OH has taken DS to an appointment so I have the house to myself which is peaceful and has given me the opportunity to do a bit of cleaning without having to work round whatever they are doing.
I have washed the kitchen floor, hoovered round and a,n going to clean the bathroom but sadly, that's all I can manage other than prepping dinner. I still can't lift my arm without pain so anything above waist height is a challenge.
OH's obsession with cardboard boxes continues unabated so the sitting room looks like one of those hoarding programmes on TV. I had some toy stuffing in a big amazooon box yesterday but hooray the box is ripped so at least that one can go. Sadly it was paper recycling this week and I've quite enough cardboard for the compost so it will be hanging around for another 10 days.
Deleted_User good to read that your DB is recovering.
Hope everyone is enjoying today, we seem to have seen off the snow which we had on and off for 4 days.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back9 -
-taff read your comment not long after thinking about making some lavender bags to raise funds for The Salvation Army. I have made some before and they were popular.
