August Completion

We have recently exchanged on a Bellway property & we have been given an August completion date.
Our property compared to other developers seems to be a lot further along so we had hoped for an earlier completion... we have asked various times if it would be completed sooner & they said no due to delays with the kitchen cupboards, (which have now been fitted) delays because of the garden, (although the grounds men have advised the garden will be completed by the end of April) etc.
All of our new neighbours are amazed that they’ve given us the August completion date & we feel as though Bellway just aren’t being honest with us. Whether the August completion is due to a legal reason, commission, or something else we would just like to be given the honest reason as to why our property is nearly finished but the completion is still over 17 weeks away!? We feel as though the sales team are just fobbing us off...
Has anyone had a similar experience? Any advice? Would you chase with Bellway head office?

I think they have a project management timeline they don't want to mess with. The fact they appear to be ahead with one house probably doesn't change that. They would need to re-plan, re-sort finance etc which just isn't worth it.1

You exchanged for an August completion date, so you must have been happy with that date. From what you say it looks highly likely that the developer will have your house finished and ready to move into on the agreed completion date - happy days.
If you wanted to move earlier than August maybe you should have chosen another house.0 -
Are there other houses around it also being built that would require access for heavy equipment?0

You mention kitchen cupboards but are the basic appliances there? A lot of house builders are experiencing delays on ovens etc so maybe they're waiting and know they can't get the house signed off for a while.0

A developer would much prefer to complete the property and get paid! Not in their interest to delay matters.0

There are other considerations.
Is the area safe, does it have the road out front enough to use daily buy homeowners. Most roads are finalised after people move in but perhaps his one won't be?
That being said you mentioned your new neighbours. Are they adjoined and already in situ? Or are they adjoined and they have the been given a different date ?
Or are they all detached and these neighbours just happen to live on the estate.
I really don't think you have cause to complain when they have been upfront with you.
You say not being honest but no doubt you would say the same if they said May and then delayed till August.0
