Good cattery in Edinburgh

We also use Adams Cattery and the care is second to none. We tried a pet sitter at first but our cat didn't cope with only being visited twice a day for half an hour. Had a look at many catteries and Adam's Cattery was the only one that impressed me for cleanliness, service standards, knowledge and personal care. The owners are very knowledgable about cats - the fact that my cat was on a special diet didn't face them one bit. They even had the special vet's food on hand. My cat is an indoor cat and what I like about this cattery in particular, is that the 'cabins' are indoor. Yes, they're more expensive than average but I think they're worth every penny. My cat certainly thinks so! And that piece of mind means a lot to me. They have a website: http://www.kennels.eu.com/0

I can highly recommend Crooklands Cattery near Forth. I have two cats, one of whom is diabetic and needs a daily insulin injection. Because Amanda is a trained veterinary nurse, I couldn't put them in a normal cattery. The accommodation was lovely, out in the country with no dogs boarded. They didn't charge any extra for the injections and I was so impressed when we collected them that Amanda had completed a daily report for them which showed how much food was eaten, how much they weighed at the beginning and end of their stay and how often they used the litter tray. We had a text, ostensibly from the cats which amused us no end as it started "Dear Mum and Dad, we are fine..." I will definitely go there again - they took wonderful care of our little (rather fat, elderly) treasures.0

I've heard the one in Colinton is good and we will have a look next time we need to use a cattery.
In the past, We've used Claylands Cattery, near Newbridge, which is very nice, although out of our way slightly.
I particularly dislike catteries that are beside kennels. The sound of barking dogs all day is surely not a good thing for most cats?! I went to view one near Straiton last year, and before I even got to the office I was put off by the sound of dogs barking in the kennels next door.
But mabye I'm a bit fussy0 -
Hi, Just to resurrect this again. But does anyone have any further recommendations? I have left if far too late to book into our usual cattery (Colinton) so wondering if anyone would recommend another one? Or someone that would come in and look after our cats at home?
Thanks!0 -
The vet in Currie has a cattery, very good vets and pleasant staff, around £6 a night.

Hi
I recently used Edinburgh Cat Care for the third time and they come and feed my old cat at home, friendly and reliable. www.edinburghcatsitters.com is their website. They cover some of edinburgh and west lothian for catsitting your cat at home to avoid the stress of a cattery has been great for my older cat who likes peace and quite to sleep on the sofa.2012 wins; ladybird trunki and ladybird books, three mascaras.
Sending you all the comping fairy dust in 2012 and sprinkling some on myself too:j0
