UC Overpayment - querying it
Comments
-
I've seen online that I can request a waiver of repayments if it means severe financial hardship, which it will for me, meaning I'm not able to pay all my bills in next few months. I know there are repayment plans I can work out with DWP Debt Management but even £10 a week will cause me problems. I'm barely covering bills & food at the moment.poppy12345 said:Unfortunately when claiming UC, all overpayments (even errors) need to be repaid back.
And the payment was from 2018 but have only just raised the query.0 -
For UC there are, as far as I know, only a handful of cases where DWP have accepted this.DanielDeronda said:

That is what I believe as well, I think the best I can hope for is a suitable repayment plan, but I will see what Citizens Advice say before deciding next course of action.calcotti said:

As you are on UC DWP would normally simply deduct any previous overpayment from your ongoing payments and can take 15% of the standard allowance if you have no earnings included.
